The ICS-liteTM is extremely cost effective and easy to use. It requires minimal or no training and is ideal for use in light vehicles, shelters, small boats, and larger platforms with the Large Platform Option.
The ICS-liteTM supports any combination of Mounted Crew Stations and WearableCrewStationsTM up to a maximum of 6 simultaneously connected crew stations.
The ICS-liteTM is completely digital except for the analog radio and headset interfaces. The Radio Hub radio audio interfaces are transformer coupled, and the PTT interface is optically isolated from the system eliminating common ground current noise. On the crew station side, the headset microphone is transformer coupled. Multiple codecs and digital routing assures isolation between signal paths. Extensive use of digital signal processing controls noise, signal leveling, and acoustical feedback. Both Crew Stations are intuitive and easy to use. Voice prompts, when enabled, assist in night time use.
The WearableCrewStationsTM and/or the Mounted Crew Stations are the user’s interface to the system. Both types of Crew Stations operate the same. The Mounted Crew Station is physically mounted to the platform, while the WearableCrewStationTM is meant to be worn, clipped/velcroed to clothing and used in a hand-held manner. A small Mini-Port is mounted to the platform providing the gateway between the WearableCrewStationTM and the Radio Hub. The WearableCrewStationTM has an optional built in hub for a personal PRC, and built in Dual radio PTTS, and an Intercom PTT. The Mounted Crew Stations have an optional external personal PRC hub with 2 radio PTTs and an Intercom PTT.
The PRC-Hub connects the users personal radio and headset to the Crew Station. When mounted, the personal radio becomes integrated into the system. The user can monitor or talk over the personal radio by using the Crew Station controls. The personal radio becomes integrated into the system and can be selected along with the vehicle's shared radios. When dismounted, using a break-away connection, the headset automatically defaults to the users personal radio.
An optional speaker port interfaces directly to an LS454/U speaker, or an 8 Ohm external speaker. A control on the Crew Station programs the function of the speaker. The speaker can monitor the intercom and/or any combination of Radios. The speaker volume is programed via the Crew Station.
